Planet B has been building a buzz for years, playing shows and festivals all over the Planet and pushing their music everywhere they can and one person at a time. PB is song writer, lead singer, Sason Bishope Parry & producer, singer/rapper, Shaun Malice Bivens, both from the San Francisco Bay Area. They both grew up listening to different styles of music and each has been involved with multiple other music projects. The “B” comes from balance and defines the fusion of hard and soft melodies, music & lyrics. Every song is an intergalactic journey and new experience in the lives of Planet B. “We grew up listening & playing so many different styles of music that we wanted to have that show through in Planet B. We don’t sugarcoat the realities, because sometimes the Planet is a big party and other times it can be a very dark place filled with fear. Lyrics are just as important as the music and probably more important, because that’s where you understand the story. Planet B has very profound messages and there are many if you listen close.” says Sason.

Both members are exact alter egos and feed upon each others creativity and vibes like ying and yang. “We didn’t want to be pigeon holed into any one particular music genre, because we like so many different styles of music, that we wanted to be able to take each song in a different direction, yet still have it be Planet B’s own unique sound. I can’t really categorize our music and I hate titles, its just good music that makes you move and think. We’ve been pushing Planet B’s sound and staying true to our music for years and have done it from a street level all on our own, with no real backing or major support, just constant grinding and hard work. I’ve always believed in our music and we produce, play, write, perform, promote, hell we do everything ourselves! We shot a video a few years back for, ”End Of The World”, and we cast more then 200 awesome people from all over, for the video and it was a huge undertaking, but it came out incredible and is pure visual eye-candy, I can’t wait for it to come out! When we 1st started PB, not too many got what we were doing, mixing all these musical styles together, but I knew we were ahead of the curve and I would rather be doing music that’s innovative and creative, rather then trying to sound like everyone else. We’ve paid our dues tenfold, were still independent, we have an endless pit of awesome unreleased music, our live show is amazing and PB is ready to rock the world! ” Says Shaun.

Planet B’s songs are extremely visual, which shows through in their stage show and many of the tracks could be soundtracks. They have finished up their new album and looking to put it out sometime in 2010 and have several videos already shot and in the can. Superstar DJ Paul Oakenfold recently remixed their song Cocaine Cowboys, which was inspired by the Cocaine Cowboys documentary and PB is looking to release the track as a single and also looking to get it on the upcoming movie about the life story of John Roberts. PB is also working on a tour and wants to play as many festivals as possible.
